Australian Associated Press is Australia's electronic news service, which used to host the Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers Association (PANPA). Overseas Press Councils and similar bodies www.presscouncils.org, a new website dedicated to press councils and other media accountability systems. Set up under the aegis of the Alliance of Independent Press Councils of Europe (AIPCE), established by the British PCC and managed by Professor Claude-Jean Bertrand. The site offers PCs a way to stay in contact; is an information source on PCs (including codes of ethics and contact details of PCs and writings about press ethics). You can link to PCs around the world through the site. many have their own websites, including ones we already know about:
Other overseas press organisations Commonwealth Press Union, deals with press matters, including training and press freedom issues, within the British Commonwealth of Nations. Has been working with the UK PCC on press self-regulation issues. Pacific Journalism Online at the University of the South Pacific provides a wealth of information on media, education and press freedom issues in the Oceania region.
