The Australian Press Council Prize

Entries for the 1996-7 Prize closed on 30 June 1997. The Council received a total of 42 entries in the tertiary section of the Prize and 7 entries in the secondary schools' section. Those entries are now with the three judges who will assess each essay and determine the winners in each section of the Prize. Those winners and, if room is available, some of the prize-winning entries will be published in the November 1997 issue of the News.

There will be a similar essay competition in 1997-8, on a subject to be announced in the November 1997 issue of the News. Entries will close on 30 June 1998.
