| INVITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FROM INDEPENDENT JOURNALISTS |
|
The Australian Press Council is seeking expressions of interest from independent journalists who would like to contribute to the work of the Council. The three main ways in which contributions may be made are → serving as an “independent journalist member” of the Council; The term “independent journalist” is used here, as in the Council’s Constitution, to mean people who have extensive experience as journalists or editors in print, digital or other media but are not currently employed by a publisher which is subject to the Council’s jurisdiction. It includes, for example, freelance or retired journalists. The names of people expressing interest will be kept on an informal and confidential register for consultation when relevant appointments or invitations are being considered by the Council. Expressions of interest should include contact details, a brief resume and an indication of which of the three types of contribution are of interest to you. They should be sent to the Executive Director of the Council at confidential@presscouncil.org.au. There is no specific closing date, although early communication will be welcome. |
